LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD 

Recognizes a state legislator who is steadfast in their support of Michigan Works! and/or a Michigan Works! Agency (i.e., support of program funding, sponsored new legislation, etc).

RALPH LOESCHNER OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD 

Named in honor of the late Ralph Loeschner, an inspiring, widely-respected Michigan Works! advocate. Loeschner passed away in 2004, leaving a legacy of excellence. This peer-nominated award recognizes an individual who is/was an outstanding promoter of Michigan Works!.

SHINING STAR AWARD

Celebrates a Michigan Works! Agency frontline staff member who, through dedication and outstanding contributions to workforce development, personifies the Michigan Works! mission. The award opened in 2009 with recipients from each Michigan Works! Agency. One individual will be selected to receive the award annually.

Pays tribute to an individual from the private sector who is dedicated to the growth and promotion of Michigan Works!.

EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR

Highlights a private sector employer that, in partnership with a Michigan Works! Agency, goes beyond the call of duty, continuously contributes to local job-placement / promotes education to maintain a skilled workforce. Emphasis may be on hiring individuals with disabilities or any other significant barrier(s) to employment.
